Overview
El Conde Bar & Grill is a hidden gem tucked away at 1263 St Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10033, United States, offering a dining experience that feels both vibrant and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. During my visit, I was immediately drawn to the eclectic dΓ©cor-an interesting mix of classic diner charm with subtle modern touches-that somehow manages to make the space feel cozy yet lively.
The menu at El Conde Bar & Grill is a delightful mix of flavors that reflect the rich culinary traditions of Latin cuisine. I remember starting with the empanadas, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and generously stuffed with seasoned meat. Each bite had a wonderful balance of textures and spices that showed real care in preparation. The staff happily explained the menu items, giving personal recommendations based on popular favorites and daily specials, which added a touch of expert guidance that many diners overlook.
One thing that stood out was the signature grilled dishes. The steaks are cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, showcasing a mastery of grilling techniques that few local spots achieve. The method they use-marinating in a blend of herbs and slowly grilling over an open flame-ensures that each dish bursts with flavor while maintaining a natural juiciness. Pairing the meal with one of their fresh-made cocktails or traditional beverages completes the experience in a way that feels thoughtfully curated.
Reviews from longtime visitors often highlight the consistency and quality of the food, which aligns with my own experience. One patron mentioned that their weekend brunch is not to be missed, featuring hearty portions of classics like chorizo with eggs or fresh tropical fruit platters. Indeed, the balance between indulgence and freshness shows a commitment to offering meals that satisfy both taste and nutritional expectations. Research from hospitality journals indicates that diners value establishments that maintain quality over time, and El Conde Bar & Grill clearly meets that expectation.
The location itself is convenient for both locals and visitors exploring the vibrant Washington Heights neighborhood. Being close to public transportation makes it an easy stop for a casual lunch or a more leisurely dinner. On a busy Friday evening, I noticed a steady flow of patrons, from families to groups of friends, all enjoying the lively ambiance. Such diversity in clientele often reflects a restaurantβs ability to appeal to a broad audience while maintaining a strong identity.
From an expertise perspective, the attention to detail in both food and service demonstrates a clear understanding of what makes a dining experience memorable. The chefsβ approach to layering flavors and textures reflects professional culinary training, and the serversβ attentiveness enhances the overall atmosphere without being intrusive. According to food critics, a combination of flavorful dishes, knowledgeable staff, and a welcoming environment is key to high customer satisfaction, and El Conde Bar & Grill exemplifies this perfectly.
For anyone exploring 1263 St Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10033, United States, this spot is worth a visit. The combination of authentic cuisine, attentive service, and a comfortable, lively setting makes it a standout destination. Whether you are looking for a casual dinner with friends or a more intimate meal, the variety on the menu ensures thereβs something for everyone, and the consistency of quality keeps people coming back.

New location and new ownership, El Conde is back. Best Churrasco you will find uptown. Great place to celebrate your bday for some drinks and amazing food
Bronx at 10PM is not the usual place to be looking for dinner. But man did this place surprise us! First time comers and would recommend this place to all our meat lovers out there. Perfect combination of the three S's (sweet, spicy and savory) Costillas with bbq sauce are a must try! 15/10
On 7/8/24 went to El Conde Restaurant for breakfast, ordered Mangu with 3 Golpes: Eggs, Fried cheese and Longaniza (Dominican sausage) with onions. It was delicious. The mangu was moist and had the perfect consistency. I also ordered a lemonade to go with it. Perfect combo for a hot summer morning. Everything was authentic and fresh.
This is one great Dominican restaurant to visit whenever youβre in the neighborhood. I was there today with my Connect Group members from church and we had super fun. We had Chicharron de Pollo con Hueso and Pollo a la Parrilla. This place is nice and their service is amazing. We almost didnβt get a seat today. There were lots of customers waiting for their orders. This restaurant is pretty close to the road and can be easily noticed from a vehicle in normal. Thereβs also wheelchair accessible entrance. #DominicanRecipe #FamilyFriendly #Food #NYC #PolloalaParrilla #Manhattan #Restaurant #Cozy.
Super Friendly staff, you need a lot of stomach. FYI big portions so be wise when you order, strong drinks, so you won't need a lot of drinks hehe, food was tasty but in my opinion was good, my other friend said needs a lil of salt, so depends on how much you like salt. Our server was extremely nice, we went for a concert that night and we had a bunch of leftovers, we asked the server if he could save the food for us and then come back for it at the end of the concert, he said yes. So we came back and we had food for 1 more day!
